Or Ella, Computer Science, Class of 2019

The field of programming has always fascinated me. I saw how technology continues to advance and the significant impact it has, and I wanted to be part of it. Before my military service, I worked for a company in the electronics industry and was deeply impressed by the work involved in programming.

I chose to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Hadassah Academic College because I heard excellent reviews about it. I graduated with an outstanding set of skills. The faculty's approach, its professionalism, and its ability to support students while maintaining high standards forced me to bring out the best in myself. I particularly enjoyed the field of gaming, an interest that developed further in my second year through various projects that allowed me to unleash my creativity. I believe that this quality, combined with my drive and motivation to succeed, especially as part of a team, is one of the unique values I bring.

Today, I work at PlayStudios, an American company that develops mobile games with offices worldwide.

We are developing a game called Pop Slots, which is the company’s most successful game globally.

My role involves developing the game’s infrastructure, including automation and client-side development—essentially, what the user sees.

During my studies, we focused heavily on object-oriented programming. In some projects (mainly in the second year) we developed games, which taught me how to plan processes and implement ideas effectively. It also encouraged me to express my ideas and think outside the box.

I also appreciated the college’s special attention to diverse populations. These efforts, along with volunteering initiatives to support underprivileged children, Holocaust survivors, and the elderly, reflect the college’s commitment to the well-being of our community.

I have always said that I am proud to have studied at an institution where professional ability (which was undoubtedly present) is not the sole matter of importance and where concern for the surrounding community is given a high priority
