Aphasia Cafe | 06/15/2016
You are cordially invited to meet the Adler Aphasia Center that is active in the college in the Department for Communication Disorders for already Nine years.
In June, as in every year, we hold an awareness month for Aphasia. As part of the activities for this awareness month, the members of the Adler Aphasia Center invite you for a discussion without a lot of talk over a cup of coffee. Come and meet the people living with Aphasia, learn a little about their lives and together we will be able to raise awareness for Aphasia. Aphasia is an acquired impairment of language and speech. People with Aphasia are people that due to brain injury lose their ability to use language at once. They have difficulty to talk, write and understand spoken and written language. People with Aphasia experience difficulties in expressing their thoughts and desires and communicating with their surroundings becomes a major challenge for them and their families. Despite their language difficulties, their intelligence and communicative needs as well as their social needs are not harmed at all.
