The school year was opened with a week-long seminar, in cooperation with the Department of Physiotherapy at Hadassah Mount Scopus. Third year students under the guidance of lecturer Yifat Keinan accompanied physiotherapists and patients, learned about treatment processes, existing needs, and the means at therapists' disposal. The seminar gave birth to a variety of products responding to functional, emotional, and cognitive needs. The closing event was attended by the department head Ms. Nirit Rotem Lehrer, and Ms. Renana Adani – senior physiotherapist. The team was very impressed with the results, and the way the students work. They are interested in putting most of the design proposals to use in the department. They also plan to present the cooperation at the national physiotherapy conference to be held later in the year.
Illustrations: "physioglove": a glove for securing the hand for training and exercise devices and fixtures, in conditions of paralysis or weakness of the hand. The glove is used instead of elastic bandages for securing the hand – an improvised, cumbersome, and unaesthetic solution. The glove is capable of bearing the weight of an average-sized person. It gives the user a sense of security, and eases the process of putting it on and taking it off, for both therapist and patient. The product has a solid, athletic appearance. Designed by students Tal Levy, Daniel Jeraffi, and Gilat Lavie.
