Former IDF General, Yoav Galant, from the Kulanu party, was a guest at a political gathering held at the College where he shared the economic-security views of the party.

Galant introduced five main security points: deterrence must be a clear and present danger. "When I was a fleet commander, I would make breakfast out of stuff thrown in the garbage so fighters would learn that there are people starving." When asked about the possibility of joining a different party he said: "We do not come from television or politics. We are people of action, not words."

After Galant surveyed the central security challenges and presented them as "growing Islamist extremism," referred to the differences in the GNP (Gross National Product) between Israel and its neighbors, the limited Jewish geographic space, nuclearization and attempts nuclearization of its neighbors and the Palestinian population west of Jordan that's expected to reach 8-million only a few generations and noted the five main points in his defense strategy:

• Every place under Israeli control must be protected at all costs
• Deterrence must be clear and present
• President Bush's 2004 outline is the proper path
• Budget Optimization and Security
• Economic strength, national social security

Galant was asked by one of the students why he doesn't define himself as right or left wing, and why the Kulanu party doesn't merge with another. Galant answered: "I am fed up with the public hearing about the right and the left because the TV  networks are clear enough. We don't come from television and politics. We are people of action, not words."
