This week, staff and students of the optometry department went to the Mevasseret absorption center and held over 100 eye examinations for the residents. They prepared about 50 pairs of glasses for free for those that needed them. Optometrists, an ophthalmologist and two opticians that came from America held the examinations together with the staff and students from the department of Optometry Sciences. One of the students that participated in the project is a new immigrant from Ethiopia and she helped with the translation for the immigrants. On Thursday they will be doing an additional round of examinations at the absorption center.
