This week, we had 55 pupils from the “Yad Hamore” school visit our Eye clinics. During their visit they heard a lecture from Ibrahim Sa’ada, an instructor of our clinics on these topics: The structure of the eye, optical illusions and the importance of eye examinations. The pupils all had eye examinations with our students and instructors conducted by Rinat Karmi, an instructor of our clinics, with full cooperation, efficiency, in perfect order and professionalism.

Every year tens of the college students are integrated into the “Yad Hamore” school in the framework of the dean’s involvement programs. Besides for the fact that they contribute immensely to the school, they also receive no less and maybe even more from meaningful, varied and challenging experiences – which even causes some of the students to continue contributing outside of the formal framework of hours, and especially makes them understand that they can contribute to others without harming their busy daily routine as students and even after, and also enjoy it.

This tradition includes the Optometry faculty as well, that every year happily contributes in organizing activities for children during Health Week they have at school, and so (and in addition to environment health courses and communication disorders that they have also volunteered with in the past) provides an important and interesting solution for the team and the school children with different aspects.
