Recently there was another activity day for the students in the framework of the “Kehilla Lemaan” initiative – a project that deals in improving the lives of the residents and their surroundings, through massive one time jobs of improving the surroundings, together with residents and volunteers. About thirty students enlisted for the renovation meeting of the “Kehilla Lemaan” initiative to renovate the DavidkaGarden. The garden is near the college, in an area between several houses and has been neglected for the past two years.
In the framework of this activity, the students weeded, built a fence, planted an almond tree, painted the walls, supply cabinet and the garbage can area, built signs, created borders for areas and prepared the soil for planting vegetables and spices for the use of the residents of the neighborhood.
Residents of the area joined in and thanked the initiative, and promised to continue caring after the renovations. The Aitech forum and the district administration of the Jerusalem municipality helped in cleaning the area and bringing compost before the start of the activity.
