Prof. Michel MillodotThe Dept. of Optometry at Hadassah Academic College mourns the passing of Prof. Michel Millodot this month. Prof. Millodot acted as an academic consultant to the Department since it was established in 1991 and visited at least once a year until his health declined.

Prof. Millodot was a Holocaust survivor who went on to become a leader in the world of optometry. He was the former Dean of the School of Optometry at Hong Kong Polytech and Professor Emeritus at Cardiff School of Optometry.

Prof. Millodot collaborated with many of Hadassah Academic College’s Dept. of Optometry faculty members, resulting in the publications of over a dozen articles in peer reviewed journals and scores of presentations at scientific conferences. Prof. Ariela Gordon-Shaag, Chair of the Dept. of Optometry says, “Prof. Millodot was a kind and warm man. He was dedicated to teaching students and advancing optometry in Israel. I will miss him terribly.” Dr. Liat Gantz, the Director of the M. Optom. Program says “Michel mentored me in a thoughtful and kind way. Collaborating with him was a fantastic experience.”
