MA Program in Communication Disorders

Goals

The program is designed for Speech-Language Pathologists who wish to enhance their theoretical, research and clinical foundations and expand their therapeutic toolkit. The program trains clinical experts and provides them with the tools to guide and lead the next generation of SLPs.

General Description

The two-year program focuses on multilingual and multicultural aspects of communication disorders. It includes a combination of six mandatory courses, electives with a clinical orientation, and practical fieldwork, along with opportunities for extracurricular activities, field trips, and a final project. Students engage in 20-25 weekly hours of coursework and practical training, which prepare them for professional roles in diverse and multicultural settings.

Fields of study include:

  • Languages and culture in Israel
  • Multicultural aspects of communication disorders
  • Multilingualism during a person’s lifespan
  • Diagnosis and treatment of multicultural and multilingual populations

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must hold a BA in Communication Disorders from an accredited institution, with a grade point average of at least 85 in their degree studies.
