The Department of Photographic Communications at Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College offers a distinctive study program that combines creativity, professionalism, and innovation in photography. Our bachelor’s degree in Photographic Communications provides a solid foundation in traditional and innovative photography techniques, setting the stage for a successful career in the visual communication industry. The program is designed to equip students with practical tools and theoretical knowledge, emphasizing photography and video production, with leading training in computational imaging technologies and 3D modeling. Furthermore, students engage with cutting-edge technologies such as VR, AR, and Artificial Intelligence, preparing them to become the next generation of visual content creators. The curriculum prioritizes the development of essential skills for industry entry, focusing on marketing, creativity, and producing impactful visual content with added value. With over 50 years of experience training photography professionals, our program has positioned itself as a leading hub for students seeking to enter the vibrant and exciting world of photography and digital media, providing them with the tools needed to excel in a competitive job market.

Areas of activity

Our program uniquely combines traditional photography thinking with cutting-edge technologies such as VR, AI, and 3D modeling, providing students with practical skills and innovation-driven expertise. With a strong emphasis on creativity and hands-on training, our department prepares graduates to meet the demands of the modern job market and thrive in the dynamic field of visual communication. The study topics encompass still and video production, documentary and commercial photography, video editing and post-production, computational photography and interactive applications, digital imaging and 3D simulations, artificial intelligence (AI), sound design, marketing strategy and business management, portfolio building, and an internship program. Additionally, the students acquire academic skills from social and communication disciplines, including academic writing and critical thinking. Moreover, the department offers special activities such as research collaborations with international institutes, commercial workshops, and gallery exhibitions.

 

Career Opportunities

With approximately 80 percent of graduates employed in the creative industries' job market, our graduates excel in photography, visual media, and related fields, including commercial and documentary productions, institutional sectors, rich media, and high-tech industries.

International Activities

Our students are participating in international collaborations with institutes from countries from around the globe, such as The United Kingdom, Germany, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, and India. These collaborations include mobility programs such as the EU’s Erasmus+ program, classroom collaborations, and visits.
